Our exhibition “We’re seeing red” will go into the second round at the end of July.
Because we are still seeing red in face of the growing crisis. Militarization, debates on compulsory military service and the dismantling of social welfare define the daily discourse and the life of our class more than it hasn’t in decades.
While Germany is profiting of wars in the whole word, supports a genocide in Palestine and has the back of the US, while they starve Cuba, our playground becomes increasingly smaller.
Repressions grow larger, culture is brought in line. But protests and strikes, which also stem from a new political generation, show how impactful resistance can be.
We want to ask ourselves the question in this exhibition: How can we support the resistance against their wars as socialist designers? And which tasks do we have within the art and culture industry?
The exhibition will be companied by an opening weekend again, that is meant to be a space of connecting and discussions on collective forms of protests within design.
Important for us is the interdisciplinary character, through which we try to achieve a comprehensive picture of the results of current revolutionary design. It is also important for us to understand design not merely as an isolated act of an individual, but rather as part of a collective process of resistance – also to break through the isolation that we face in our daily life.
