Israeli pinkwashing tries to perpetuate the backward idea that Palestinian people are inherently queer and transphobic and that queer and trans Palestinians do not and cannot stand in opposition to apartheid and genocide. We reject this narrative and want to create a collective space for solidarity with global struggles against colonialism.
The films are in Arabic and English with English and German subtitles. The event is free to attend 💬
After the screening, there will be space to come together and to share our thoughts. There will be food and drinks on a donation basis 🍲🥤
@queercinema4palestine began as an alternative ethical space for filmmakers who refused to show their work in the Israeli government-sponsored TLVFest LGBTQ Film Festival. Over the past years, hundreds of filmmakers have shown their solidarity in response to the boycott call from queer and trans Palestinians 🇵🇸
